UK Status Resident. Widespread and common throughout the British Isles, but rather more local in the south. Montgomeryshire Status Scarcely recorded in the county. Wingspan : M & F, 7.5-8.5mm. Confusion species Many species of Phyllonorycter are extremely similar, great care should be given when separating these species. It is often impossible to separate the adults of some species. |

(Bivoltine)  Habitat Wherever the foodplant is found. Foodplant Rowan, bird-cherry and whitebeam. Lifestage data Leaf miner. Eggs laid on underside of leaf. Larva forms a gallery along the midrib or leaf edge. Pupates in a strong whitish cocoon in the mine. |
